If you consider yourself to be an alternative bride, looking for something quirky, thrifty and or just downright different, then look no further…
The Fabulous Wedding Festival is here.
And as if she wasn’t busy enough organising this major wedding event, all of the beautiful photographs are credited to Becky Joiner, of My Fabulous Life Photography.
I remember sitting in my lounge at home when I received a Tweet from the FabWedFest team about this exciting new event – and I also remember squeaking with delight when I clicked onto the website. It looked great, another wedding show to add to my list for 2013. But then I dug deeper and realised that this is NOT just another wedding show – far from it in fact.
FabWedFest looks set to be the wedding event of the year for me. As a newly engaged bride to be, wedding blogger and lover of all things vintage and quirky, I can’t think of a better place to be on 16th March 2013. Running from 11am until 10pm, the FabWedFest will be full to the brim with creativity, inspiration and general loveliness! So, what’s happening, I hear you shout?
Forget the mundane sweetheart neckline clones (seriously, this is start to become a l big bug bear of mine!), oh no, you’ll be treated to some of the UK’s most talented independent designers on the catwalk. There will be some more traditional gowns, but also lots of festival themed alternatives, accessorised with head candy and bespoke rocks.
It’s true, boys are generally forgotten in the wedding planning process. Either that, or they’re dragged kicking and screaming into a confusing world of confetti, traditions and scary speeches. Well, the FabWedFest has all bases covered, with some “Boys Only” workshops taking place including but not limited to –
– How to Tie a Cravat
– Hints & Tips on Writing the Funniest Wedding Speech
– Best Places for a Stag Do (and How to get Home Again)
– Selection of Suits and Casual Wear Perfect for a Festival Wedding
– How to Walk your Daughter up the Aisle
Tickets for the Banquet have yet to go on sale, so keep checking back on the FabWestFest Facebook Page for updates, but for some lucky visitors, you’ll be able to attend the Festival Banquet. Enjoy a three course lunch or dinner, served on wonderfully styled tables in the Shippern Barn at Muddifords Court. There will of course be other food and drink available, with the bar open all day.
Art Gallery for Photographer & Film Makers
Rather than a stuffy little spot at a cramped wedding fayre, the photographers and videographers at the show will have the opportunity to really display and showcase their work. And of course, this means it’s much more fun for the bride to be, too!
There will be hints, tips and sessions from top wedding suppliers on how to make your wedding day unique! Perfect for those opting for a DIY wedding, you’ll leave feeling more than inspired.
Oh yes, you heard correctly – this might be the only wedding show when you’re able to stay the night after all the excitement gets a little too much!
There’s a range of accommodation options to suit all budgets and requirements… Dotty Vintage is going rustic and opting for…
