I’m utilising my blog as a platform to ask for your help today. Nothing to do with weddings but this is a worthwhile cause and I hope my lovely readers can lend some support.
Wild Futures operates from the Monkey Sanctuary, which is situated in Looe, Cornwall – the home of Dotty Vintage too. Yesterday, they were badly flooded due to the extreme weather conditions that much of the country also experienced. All of the electrical equipment in their Education Office has been damaged, including phones and computers, education packs/resources are water damaged, along with chairs, carpets and a beautiful collection of primate books have also been ruined. A tree has also threatened one of the enclosures, and has to be removed.
After a wet summer to say the least, their visitor numbers are down, and they have nothing in the budget to deal with this level of damage. The Monkey Sanctuary is home to a number of primates, and Wild Futures delivers awareness campaigns and valuable environmental education.
Wild Futures is dedicated to –
- Promoting the welfare and conservation of primates
- Conserving and restoring natural habitats in the UK and abroad through funding support, education and sustainable practices
- Working to end the trade in primates for any purpose and abuse of primates in captivity
- Offering a home for life to primates in need of rescue and rehabilitation
